Concerned Mother Convinces Firefighters To Rescue Her Ducklings

Firefighters gave a stern warning to a mother duck this afternoon after rescuing her ducklings from a storm drain, officials say.

A Montgomery County resident noticed the concerned duck acting strangely by the CVS near the Olney Fire Substation the morning of Wednesday, July 13, Montgomery County Firefighters say.

Firefighters were able to lift the storm drain cover and Montgomery County Police Officer H. Chen reached down to rescue the eight ducklings.

The mother duck and her ducklings were safely reunited after officers made sure to warn the mother to keep a closer eye on her children.
